Sparkling Blackberry Lemonade

Bold color, bright flavor, and balanced just right—this Sparkling Blackberry Lemonade brings a vibrant finish to your spring table.

Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

For the Blackberry Syrup:

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blackberries
  • ½ cup sugar or honey
  • ½ cup water

For the Lemonade:

  • ¾ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 5–6 lemons)
  • 2½ cups cold water
  • 1½ cups plain seltzer or sparkling water

To Serve:

  • Ice
  • Lemon wheels or fresh blackberries for garnish
  • Fresh mint or basil (optional)

Instructions

Make the Blackberry Syrup:

  1. In a small saucepan, combine blackberries, sugar (or honey), and water.
  2. Simmer over medium heat for 8–10 minutes, gently mashing the berries.
  3. Strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve and cool completely.

Mix the Lemonade:

  1. In a pitcher, combine lemon juice, cold water, and cooled blackberry syrup.
  2. Stir well and adjust sweetness if needed.

Add the Sparkle:

  1. Just before serving, stir in seltzer or sparkling water.

Serve:

  1. Pour over ice and garnish with lemon wheels, blackberries, and fresh herbs if desired.
